pSivida Corp. (NASDAQ: PSDV) (ASX: PVA) (FF: PV3), a drug delivery company with two of the only three ophthalmic sustained release delivery products approved by the FDA for treatment of back of the eye diseases, announced financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended June 30, 2009. For the quarter ended June 30, 2009, the Company reported a consolidated net loss of $534,000, or $0.03 per share, compared to a consolidated net loss of $63.6 million, or $3.48 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Results for the three months ended June 30, 2008 included a $60.1 million charge for impairment of goodwill. Revenues for the three months ended June 30, 2009 were $3.2 million compared to revenues of $2.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2008. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $6.9 million at June 30, 2009.
For the year ended June 30, 2009, the Company reported a consolidated net loss of $2.5 million, or $0.14 per share, compared to a consolidated net loss of $75.7 million, or $4.17 per share, for the year ended June 30, 2008, also reflecting the $60.1 million impairment charge. Revenues for the year ended June 30, 2009 were $12.2 million compared to revenues of $3.5 for the year ended June 30, 2008.
Revenues for the three and twelve month periods ended June 30, 2009 and 2008 were predominantly related to the Company’s amended and restated collaboration agreement with Alimera Sciences, Inc. (Alimera).
